Netflix Chooses Spot-On Actor for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3

Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a adored, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bentham. The role can use their power to morph into an exact copy of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The actor, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that character re-envisioned as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the original manga and anime.

Escola will work alongside multiple fresh additions tasked with bringing the group to the screen, featuring head Mr. 0, played by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.

Though the role is a important part of the group, the character won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Given season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could indicate further changes to the plot development.

Their mix of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the part. In addition to their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
